Our Committment to the Environment
In today's world, recycling is a fact of life. Anything that can be recycled is recycled. Here are a few examples:
Wood and wood shavings are our largest 'waste' product however, they are not waste. Any wood that meets EPA regulations for burning is used in our central wood burning boiler. This unit heats our entire facility. The ash is used in place of lime to 'sweeten' soils in our "Grumbleweed Farm" division. Wood shavings and sawdust are again used by the farm division as bedding for the cattle. From there they (combined with cow manure) are composted and used for fertilizer. The farm operation produces top quality safe vegetables and beef. |
